I believe

Anytime you begin a sentence with the words “I believe”, what you are saying is that you are not sure, even though it is your job to figure things out for the customer. So please avoid starting sentence like that. You can, however, start a sentence with the following if you are uncertain of what is being discussed: “From the information that I have, I conclude that the…” or “Using the details you provided, I suggest that…”
The word believe, especially in our field, carries with it an air of “lack of knowledge”. Meaning it makes us look like we don’t what we are doing, so we believe something, rather than know it.

When you are tempted to use “I believe” consider these instead:

“After considering the problem, I have concluded…” OR

“Optimally, I consinder __________ to be the best course of action….”
